Job description

The Managing Director will lead and foster the strategy design, deployment and implementation steering process, the definition of strategic innovation and business development target areas, the governance, risk- & business continuity and compliance management as well as the sustainability and CSR endeavors of the company.This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities including strategy development and deployment, market and consumer insights, trend analysis and foresight, the central transformation- and project management, the business continuity, governance, risk and compliance (GRC) management, the integrated management system (for the integrated quality-, food safety-, food defense-, health/safety/environment (HSE)-, kosher-, halal-, energy-, legal compliance-, information security- and sustainability (CSR)- management in close cooperation with the central and decentral experts) and the sustainability and CSR agenda of the company.

As a prospective member of the Board of Management, the role involves partnering with all other Managing Directors and subsidiary management boards to drive strategic development and enterprise transformation initiatives. This includes promoting growth, business performance, ensuring operational efficiency and fostering a culture of innovation and sustainability.Key responsibilitiesStrategy and Business Development

  • Develop, implement and monitor the company's strategic vision and long-term goals and strategy
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and market expansion
  • Assess market trends and consumer insights to nurture and drive strategic decisions
  • Foster dialogue with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and investors

Transformation and Central PMO

  • Lead transformation programs and initiatives to enhance business performance, operational efficiency and competitiveness
  • Oversee the central Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure successful execution of strategic projects
  • Implement best practices in project management and change management

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain business continuity plans to ensure resilience in the face of disruptions
  • Oversee governance, risk management and business continuity, and compliance to safeguard the company's interests
  • Develop and foster the integrated management system and platform of the company and its subsidiaries (quality-, food safety-, food defense-, health/safety/environment (HSE)-, kosher-, halal-, energy-, legal compliance-, information security- and sustainability/CSR- management)

Sustainability

  • Drive the company's sustainability agenda, focusing on reducing environmental impact and promoting social responsibility
  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies and initiatives
  • Monitor and report on sustainability performance and progress

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the FMCG industry
  • Strong strategic thinking and business development skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies, along with the related processes and methods
  • Expertise in project management, transformation, innovation and change management
  • Expertise in GRC
  • In depth knowledge in CSR and sustainability management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Proficient in English and German, Italian knowledge is a plus
