Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated AI Governance Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing robust AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure responsible and ethical AI practices across the organization.

This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure ethical and responsible use of AI.
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as engineers, data scientists, and product managers to embed AI governance principles into all AI-related projects.
  • Lead delivery of an AI Intake and Inventory process and workflow, including associated architectural reviews and risk assessments.
  • Map out and implement a strategy that aligns enterprise AI objectives with the NIST framework to ensure standard processes in AI usage and risk management.
  • Establish AI risk thresholds and provide AI risk tolerance reports to relevant committees. Identify customer concerns requiring reporting to management.
  • Supervise and review compliance to AI policies and procedures across the organization and assess compliance with the AI Risk Management Framework.
  • Develop metrics to evaluate the efficiency of AI governance initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve internal and external AI communications.
  • Develop comprehensive AI training programs and workshops to raise awareness and educate consumers and internal users on AI governance standard methodologies.
  • In coordination with internal partners such as compliance, engage with external collaborators, such as regulators and industry groups, to contribute to discussions on AI governance.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to stay informed on the latest developments in AI regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring that our practices adhere to all relevant laws.
  • Be responsible for responses to RFP, Due Diligence, and other AI-related questionnaires.

Required Qualifications

  • A strong background in AI ethics, governance, corporate audit, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks within a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML technologies, their applications, and associated risks.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory landscapes and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to think critically.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GDPR, AI Act, and other relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with global AI regulatory landscapes and frameworks.
  • Advanced degree in computer science, law, data ethics, or a related field.

Additional Requirements
