As the VP of Regulatory Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the AI & Analytics strategy within the Regulatory Compliance function. You will lead one or more teams, setting the strategic direction, managing resources, and ensuring adherence to group and regulatory standards. Your expertise in data science, machine learning, and generative AI will be instrumental in developing a diverse team and enhancing models and applications to support risk stewards and address emerging risks.
Responsibilities
- Support and consult on analytics design, development, implementation, optimization, validation, and monitoring methodologies
- Provide analytics to identify risks, new risk trends, management information, and forecasts, recommending model or control amendments for non-Regulatory Risk purposes
- Contribute to and deliver the AI & Analytics strategy within Regulatory Compliance
- Assume functional responsibility for one or more teams within RC AI & Analytics, including setting strategy, agreeing on the annual Book of Work, resource forecasting, recruitment, financial/resource usage, reporting, governance, and risk management
- Manage teams in the same location with different functional managers
- Develop a diverse team to enhance models and applications, supporting risk stewards and addressing emerging and bespoke risks
- Ensure adherence to group and regulatory standards, appropriate deployment of resources, attainment of operating plan objectives, and day-to-day management of business requirements
- Champion best-in-class model risk management to support effective and safe deployment of analytical solutions
Qualifications
University degree in technology, data analytics, or related discipline, or 8+ years of relevant work experience in computer or data science
Required Skills
- Understanding of Regulatory Compliance, risks, and direct experience in deploying controls and analytics to manage those risks
- Experience in Financial Services (preferably within a tier-one bank) or related industry
- Knowledge of the group structure, business, personnel, and corporate culture
- Experience in agile development
- Strong leadership and management skills, ability to effectively manage across peers and stakeholders in multiple geographic locations
