The Boeing Company is in search of a Privacy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Compliance - Senior Leader to join the team.
The seasoned leader will oversee and enhance its Privacy and AI Compliance-by-Design group within Boeing’s Global Compliance organization. This role will work closely with Boeing’s AI leaders and will focus on integrating privacy and AI compliance considerations into various business segments and functions from the outset. The Privacy and AI Leader will report directly to the Chief Privacy Officer.
This position has a preference that candidate be based out of either Plano, TX or Seattle, WA but will allow the candidate to be based out of one of the following: Everett, WA; Auburn, WA; Renton, WA; , Arlington, VA, Chicago, IL; Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; Mesa, AZ; Herndon, VA; North Charleston, SC; El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; Long Beach, CA; Seal Beach, CA; Oklahoma City, OK; Colorado Springs, CO; San Antonio, TX; Huntsville, AL or Ridley Park, PA.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads the privacy and AI-by-design team, providing expert guidance on data privacy and comprehensive AI requirements such as the European Union (EU) AI Act, while assessing their implications for Boeing’s operations
- Collaborates proactively with Boeing’s AI and business leaders to establish guidelines and requirements that support upcoming product and service initiatives involving AI systems and/or personal data
- Manages significant projects related to emerging privacy and AI legislation, ensuring compliance and collaboration with stakeholders across the organization
- Designs and deliver general and role-specific training on privacy and AI, while overseeing Boeing’s network of privacy advocates and champions
- Directs the strategy for privacy and AI program tooling technology and implement new capabilities and resources
- Provides regular updates to regional and global leadership regarding the status and effectiveness of the global privacy program, including key risks and mitigation strategies
- Supervises the creation and management of global privacy policies, notices, and self-regulatory frameworks
- Fosters continuous improvements in the privacy program's maturity based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), audits, and surveys
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience in a privacy leadership role, with a growth mindset and expertise in integrating new privacy and AI regulations into business operations
- Extensive experience in conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments, Privacy Impact Assessments, and Fundamental Human Rights Assessments, along with knowledge of privacy and AI regulatory, contractual, and compliance matters
- Exceptional leadership skills combined with a thorough understanding of global privacy and AI laws and regulations; demonstrated capability to drive digital transformations in a meaningful and relatable manner, empowering technology champions, partners, and leaders to achieve success
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of prioritizing tasks and providing guidance under tight deadlines; business-minded with a focus on enabling business operations; experienced in translating complex policies and regulations into actionable business controls
- Significant experience presenting to company executives, preferably within an international organization, with a talent for inspiring and mentoring diverse teams and privacy advocates
- Strong decision-making skills and a solid business acumen for evaluating the costs and benefits of various options; applies speed and agility balanced with a risk-based approach
- Highly motivated, capable of tackling both open-ended challenges and well-defined tasks, while being team-oriented and adept at collaborating with diverse stakeholders
